Once a year Tobacco Dock is the home for the Bike Shed event where it becomes a sea of custom bikes and like-minded visitors. This year celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the show which, along with their concept store in Shoreditch, is the vision of Dutch & Vikki van Someren who have perfectly captured the essence of a culture and scene loved by many.
Opening for VIP’s on Friday evening and continuing on through Saturday and Sunday, the show is a real treat. Beyond the shed built bikes, which in themselves showcase the unbelievable talent underlying this vibrant scene, the Street Food, Bars, Barbering, Tattoos, Independent Retailers, Cinema, Artwork and Live Music, offers plenty of stimulation for the eyes and soul.
Arriving at the event on the Friday evening, we soon had a pint in hand and were being entertained by James 'Steel' Stott aka The Magic Marine who left us mesmerised by his trickery. Feasting our eyes on the vast array of two wheels and soaking up as much as we could during the evening, we found everyone to be in good spirits.
Saturday’s play saw us dining at the Bike Shed bolt hold on Old Street, which we can highly recommend, before hopping on the complimentary shuttle bus to Tobacco Dock to see more of the main event.
This show never tires and we know for sure we’ll be back again next year – maybe see you there?
